McNair Scholar Presents at the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Kentucky Academy of Science

EKU Biology major and EKU McNair scholar Sasha Carrasco presented an award winning presentation at the 2023 Kentucky Academy of Science Annual Meeting held at Northern Kentucky University November 3 & 4, 2023.  Sasha's presentation was titled "Exploring the Morphological and Photosynthetic Traits of the Leaves of American and Chinese Chestnuts at the EKU Orchard."  Her EKU faculty research mentor is Dr. Jennifer Koslow in the EKU Department of Biological Sciences.  Sasha's prentation was a top scorer among all presentations and earned her "Thoroughbred" recognition.  Congratulations Sasha!  The Kentucky Academy of Science Annual Meeting is an interdisciplinary professional environement that cultivates scientific discovery and understanding.
